What’s your favourite part about Autumn/Fall? I most love curling up with a hot water bottle & a cup of tea while reading a good book!

NOTD: Sally Hansen Nail Prisms–Ruby Emerald!

sally hansen nail prisms ruby emerald nail polish notd autumn nails

I am fully absorbed into the whole burgundy/wine nail trend at the moment and think this Sally Hansen polish is a perfect example. You can’t tell as much in the picture, but this shade is a deep red/purple with bronze glitter, giving it that perfect autumn nail. I really wish the photograph did it justice, but you can kind of see the slight duo effect in the bottle.

That’s What She Said: Aromaleigh V2 First Impressions – Quadrille & Ruffle Eyeshadows!

Hey guys! Abit of a first impression/swatch post for you today. Last month I was sent a few bits by Aromaleigh V2 to try out, some of which being two eye shadows from their Moulin Rogue collection. I love loose pigments so was really excited to try them.

Ruffle- A slightly sheer pale cream yellow with the slightest undertone of warm green shimmer and fine borealis highlight glimmer.
Quadrille- A complex tonal finish frost in mid-toned warm spring green, with undertones of metallic gold and shimmering blue highlight sparkles.

They definitely tick all the boxes of what I look for in an eyeshadow. Good pigmentation, staying power and bendability. Check! The collection itself boasts 35 amazing shades with a variety of different finishes and colours inspired by vintage posters and dancer images, as well as the distinctive paintings of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and today's modern haute couture, deriving clear inspiration from the Belle Époque era of the world famous Moulin Rouge.

Packaged in a 5gram jar you will receive 1.2grams net weight for the full size. Samples contain 1/8th tsp of product in a zip baggie for $1.
You can get this collection here for $7 per full sized jar.

Have you ever tried Aromaleigh? What colour would you most like to try from this collection?

That’s What She Said: Wet n Wild Petal Pusher Palette!

Hey pretties! Today I have a Wet n Wild review for you! Now this is the first time I’ve tried this brand as it’s not readily available in the UK. My friend Katie kindly picked up Petal Pusher for me though, on her recent trip to Florida. I’ve heard alot of good things about Wet n Wild so was really excited to try this. Unfortunately, I have to say I was underwhelmed. Many people rave about the pigmentation, but to me it was severely lacking. When I did a little research I saw peoples swatches of this palette look so vivid. What did you use, a paint roller? Now apologies for my terrible swatches today. I still haven’t found the perfect place in my house for a mega accurate representation.

I had to scrub away to get the colour payoff above. The darker colours are alright, its just the lighter ones. I guess people who don’t normally wear bright colours may think the pigmentation is good, but I do regularly wear bright eye shadows from the likes of Sugarpill & indie loose pigment companies, so to me its a little disappointing. The packaging is plastic and cheap looking, but it is a cheap drugstore product, so what do we expect really?

Now don’t get me wrong, I do like this palette. It’s great for a colourful toned down look (you can see my recent FOTD post using this here) but it’s not as “in your face” as I'm used too. One thing which I really love though, is how well the shadows blend! So easily do they just merge together to give beautiful gradients. Not patchy in the slightest. I am going to give the brand a second chance as a few people I’ve spoken too have said Petal Pusher isn’t the best, so if my secret plans (which are not so secret to some of you) go ahead I’ll have to chance to try alot more Wet n Wild next summer.

What do you think of Wet n Wild palettes? Which is your favourite?

FOTD: Petal Pusher!

Another look today! I don’t have much time to wear eye makeup recently, but when I do I hope to snap a couple of pics for you guys! When I have abit of time I may even get some tutorials up!
Today though, I used the Wet n Wild petal pusher palette Katie got me from the USA! The pigmentation isn’t brilliant, but It did give a lovely subtle almost sweet looking purple eye. Apologies for the horrid images. I’ve still to find a great spot in my new house to take photos, most of them are turning out dull and urgh!

Is it just me or have my eyelashes gotten longer? They really feel it when I’m putting on mascara recently! Woop! But anyway bare with me while I sort out this photo-BAD situation. Even if I have to use the product table in uni, I will get some cracking images! That’s one of the main things I focus on here.

On another note, check out the Barry M Bold Eyeliners! Seriously! This one is amazing, I need more! Review incoming.

That’s What She Said: Baby Queen 5 Series Bottom Lashes!

As some of you may or may not know I have a very love hate relationship with eyelashes. Sometimes I’m constantly using them in my looks, sometimes they just fail and don't feel right. Now I've never tried bottom lashes before, so when KKcenterHK offered to send me some I jumped at the chance. I’ve seen looks people have done with them and they look amazing!

_DSC0229edit

This particular set comes with 5 pairs in a cute pink box. They were abit hard to get out, as the glue is pretty darn strong, so it’s so difficult not to damage the edges. The good thing about bottom lashes is that you can place them wherever you want. Against the lower lash line or further down to create that “wide eyed doll look”, perfect for upcoming Halloween!

_DSC0217edit

The application was easier than top lashes but a little fiddly due to the size, though the clear band means you don’t have to get them absolutely perfect. I’d say you could easily get 3-4 wears out of these though, as long as you clean them after each use.

_DSC0270edit

Here’s a look I've done using them which can you see in more detail here. I didn’t get them on perfectly, but in person it’s not noticeable at all. I love the result and will 100% be using bottom lashes more in my looks!

You can grab the Baby Queen Bottom Lashes here for £7.59! For 10% off use code “bloodfeatherslipstick” at the checkout.

EOTD: Autumn Cranberry!

I’ve been feeling really inspired by autumn trends this week, so when I finally had a day off from work and university I jumped at the chance to play around! Brown smoky eyes are the range this season, so I decided to add some classic cranberry and winged liner to my everyday look.

The result is a gorgeous alternative to an everyday neutral eye, the red giving it that warm pop perfect for this time of year. Red’s can be hard to pull off, but this fool-proof combination will suit practically anyone! Try combining it with a nude lip, or if your feeling daring, a berry one!

What's your favourite makeup trend this Autumn? Have you rocked the cranberry look yet?

American Beauty Gifts!

Now this is going to be a super quick post as I’m so excited by the gifts my friend Katie got me from Florida that I just couldn’t not post about them! The ELF Maleficent palette!! I’ve been wanting this for so long and am over the moon she managed to pick it up for me! Expect a review coming soon. Now to find a way to get my paws on the other two!

The EOS lipbalm is actually amazing by the way. I think it may have actually now replaced Vaseline as my lipbalm of choice. You should really go check Katie out here. She’s going to have a massive USA beauty haul up soon (which I'm looking forward to having a nosey at). Thank you so so so so much Katiekins! I love everything and really can’t stop sniffing the candles haha.

Wows. That does seem like quite alot when added together but most of this stuff does last me ages and I would happily repurchase most of it. Some of these things I got with discounts/sales so it’s not like I paid full price for every single thing. The most loved are definitely my skin base, benefit blush (it was a gift from the boy when we first got together and has lasted nearly 2 years!) and urban decay eyeliner.
