OOTD: Superman, Meet Disney Villains!

IMG_8008edit IMG_8023edit

Hey m’dears! So today i was in the studio test shooting for my upcoming “disneybounding” project and thought I would share with you my outfit! I’m pretty excited about the upcoming work but nervous about experimenting with self-portraiture. Hopefully I will improve on it in the coming weeks and look less awkward haha! Anyway, I’m not the most fashionable of people. In winter I go for comfort over style. September through till after Easter you will most likely find me in jeans, a t shirt and a jumper/hoody, especially when I’m just in university. You’ll be happy (maybe) to know though, I've been alot more style conscious recently in a bid to inject colour into my summer wardrobe. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled throughout summer for some of my Florida Outfit posts!

Tshirt – Girl Talk
Jeans – Primark
Jumper – The Disney Store
Shoes – New Look

I jumped on the bandwagon and bought some Creepers last week also. I’ve been wanting some for years, ever since I was a 13 year old goth kid, and finally got my hands on some. Expect to see a separate post on them tomorrow.

As abit of feedback for my project, which image to you prefer? The more posed one on the right or the casual one on the left? I think I personally prefer the latter.
What's your general ‘winter’ look?

Pre-Florida Disney ICP ‘Haul’!

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while but I'm having a much needed break at my parents house before I embark on my last few months of university. I know I originally intended to save my Florida buying until Easter but I spotted so many bargains that I just had to jump in early. I now mostly have everything I need fashion wise except toiletries, swimwear and maybe a nice top for the evening. I made sure to get just basics as I plan to buy alot of things out there. If you would like to see more about what I will be taking keep an eye out over on my Travel Blog. Also if you didn't catch my big Florida announcement go look here.

I’m really pleased with all the items I’ve gotten and should probably write a list for what I do need to take as I can 100% see me over packing. (Apologies for the baddy picture above, i left my SLR in Southampton.)

Are you going anywhere nice this summer?

Re-Gen Oil - Treatment for Scars, Stretch Marks and Acne!

Re-Gen Oil Treatment serum skincare acne

Many of us battle with our skin on a daily basis weather from dryness, acne, redness or other things we see as imperfections. A few months ago I stumbled upon this product unused in my mums room. Originally bought for scars, she’d never really used it so of course I sneakily had off with it. Having been using Re-Gen Oil for a few months now, I thought it was about time I did a review as I’ve gone on about this so many times to my friends. It’s much like Bio-Oil (with very similar ingredients) but cheaper and you can also get this in a few other forms, such as a cream. I use 2-3 drops on my face before I go to bed of an evening, giving the product time to really sink in to the skin. I used to wear it during the day but switched to my Effaclar Duo for under makeup (which is surprisingly still going after 2 & half months)!

Did it work? I can honestly say I can see a difference when I use Re-Gen Oil. A few months back when I first started using it I saw blemishes and scarring disappear quicker while any dry patches I had become instantly moisturised. Only using a few drops at a time, it’s lasted months and I’ve still got loads left. Using Re-Gen Oil has really made me want to explore more brands and products which have the same properties, so let me know if you have any you would recommend. A little tip, try popping a couple of drops in your bath for some extra body TLC.

You can find this in Bodycare for around £4 or pick up Bio Oil in Boots for £13.49 for 125 ml.

Have you ever tried Bio Oil/Re-Gen Oil as an acne treatment? What’s your favourite facial oil?

February 2013 Wishlist!

feb 2013 wishlist

Hey darlings! I know I've been pretty MIA this month so far so I thought I would put together a little wish list of things I’m wanting at the moment. Surprisingly, this was so tough. There's not much i actually want, shock horror. Because I’m on a no buy at the moment I’m trying to dig through my stash and re-discover some oldies to review for you all, which to be honest isn’t going very well as I have hardly worn makeup! There is one beauty which you can see in the next few days that I’ve been using quite alot as well as some skincare posts. Anyway, here's what I’ve been wanting recently.

Urban Decay Oz Palettes
In all honesty I can do without these, but it’s Disney. You know what I’m like with Disney. Really looking forward to the movie and will probably end up picking up one, if not both of these beauties. I particularly love that they come with “duo” shadows, lip crayon and liner pencil.

DisneyBouding!
If you don’t know what this is, click here! I’m looking for a whole new wardrobe for my summer in Florida, and top of the list are Disney Character themes. I’m probably going to be doing a photography project involving this which will become a blog series so stay tuned!

Real Techniques Brushes
Having graced my wish lists before, I still haven't picked up any more RT brushes! The eyes set is the first on my list at the moment and I’m completely undecided weather i am going too get these or wait until I'm in the States and order some Sigma eye brushes. Choices choices.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
I so hope they have a shade in this light enough for my skin tone. Having heard some good reviews from over the pond I’m dying to get my hands on it, which is weird as I hardly ever lust after foundations. I think the allure is something that is very lightweight for when I'm at Disney as it’s going to be very very hot, plus this has SPF!

Essie Nail Polish
Only owning one ‘fall’ shade of Essie’s line, I'm looking to pick up one or two lighter spring/summer choices. I don’t actually have any nudes, so would love to find one to take away with me (I’m not allowed nail polish on the job, so only going to take a nude and one colour I reckon).

Black Milk
Oh how I covert thee. So many things I want from the Lord of the Rings Leggings to the dresses, but one thing I can try and justify are the swimsuits. Can you believe I don't own a swim suit? Of course that will have to change for the summer, but I’m trying as hard as i can to save for this by Easter!

Mehron Detailz Liners
I saw the Lime Green one of these used in a makeup look last year and fell in love with it instantly. Ever since I've been wanting. Hopefully soon I can get a few as I’ve been wanting a bright neon liquid liner which will work (and show up) in combination with a smoky eye, think this image.

What have you been wanting recently?

That’s What She Said: Makeup Geek Eye-Shadows!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Review Z-Palette

Having been a fan of Marlena, aka Makeup Geek for quite a while I was dying to try the makeup range she brought out last year. I’m not a person who impulse buys though, and I’m pretty good at resisting beauty products if i don't need them. As it so happens the lovely Jessica was selling some of the eye shadows as she found out she was allergic to one of the ingredients. I jumped at the chance to own them, and here we are! I got twelve shadows in a variety of colours that come in a sturdy Z-Palette. I’ve become more partial to a pan format recently and have been tempted to depot my single shadows into Z-Palettes, so this was a great way for me to see how I liked this kind of organization.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Review Z-Palette Colours[L-R, T-B, Ice Queen, Beaches & Cream, Glamorous, Unicorn, Duchess, Corrupt, Mandarine, Pixie Dust, Appletini, Mermaid, Poolside, Neptune]

Being compared to MAC but a fraction of the price, these MUG shadows are everything I hoped. Pigmented, smooth and long lasting with a whole rainbow of colours to choose from. With lots of different finishes there's something for every occasion.

Ice Queen: Frosty shimmery white.
Beaches & Cream: Creamy Matte Natural Beige with Just A Hint of Peach.
Glamorous: Shimmery bronze gold.
Unicorn: Shimmery Blue Purple.
Duchess: Matte cool purple.
Corrupt: Intense matte black with a very subtle sparkle.
Mandarine: Bright orange with flecks of gold.
Pixie Dust: Shimmery Lime green.
Appletini: Shimmery Apple green with flecks of gold.
Mermaid: Metallic teal with reflects gold.
Poolside: Bright shimmery teal with specks of gold.
Neptune: Matte bright blue.

At only $5.99 each the quality is amazing, I can’t believe I never caved for these earlier. I am 100% going to be picking up more in the future as I can see this becoming my “travel palette” as sometimes I find myself without colours when I want to do a bright look.

You can buy Makeup Geek Eye Shadows here, with 56 colours to choose from. You can find a look I’ve done with Glamorous here.

Have you ever tried the Makeup Geek range? What do you think of them?
