Urban Decay Lipstick and BrowBox

Tottering around in T.J. Hughs last week I was pleased to find a whole section of urban decay! Jumping at the chance to own more of this cruelty free, vegan makeup, I rummaged around and chose 2 products!

BrowBox in Gingersnap

I'v been looking for some sort of brow kit for a while, i was going to get the Benefit one, but this appeared first for £20 cheaper! I'm so happy I came across this! I use it every day to fill in my brows. The set contains 2 colours, wax, tweezers and a small angled brush. Having blonde hair currently, and naturally blonde eyebrows, I personally prefer the left hand colour. Its a lovely brown colour, showing brown on my brows, whilest the right colour comes up more "gingery" on my brows. The wax is a little heavy I think, but does the job keeping stray hairs in check.

The packaging in plastic but feels quite sturdy, with a pretty design on top. I use the angled brush that came with it to apply the wax, and my eco-tools angled brush to apply the colour. Overall I really like this product. Its long-lasting, nice colours and does the job! I think it suits lighter hair/brow colours more so would be more for blondes, gingers and light brunettes.

Would I reccomend this? Hell yes!

Lipstick in Trainwreck
I've not yet tried this but I love the packaging so much! Its really chunky and the lid isnt really on that firm, but its so original! The little sword in it is amazing! Theres a sword and urban decay is written on the actual lipstick, which is also amazing! I was sold on the packaging, without even looking at the colour! This is a little similar to an MUA shade i have to be honest, but i have yet to compare them. There is a smell, its not bad but not nice either. I've heared alot of people hate the smell of UD lippys but i dont really mind it.

It glides smoothly onto my hand but as can be seen above, one swipe doesnt give complete coverage. I'm looking foward to trying this properly in the coming weeks!

Sleek True Colour Lipstick

A little trip to town 2 days ago with the mother saw me prowling up and down the aisle of superdrug with an urge to spend. I settled for the New Sleek True Colour Lipsticks, which were on offer 2 for £6 (£3.99 each usally). This new range contains 20 lip colours, 12 sheen and 8 matte. The packaging is cute, being in a little box with a picture of various lipsticks on. The lippy tube is black and actually quite pretty! I really love the oval shape and texture!
The 2 colours i picked up are "Baby Doll" and "Peaches & Cream", both sheen.

Both are pretty pale but the pigmentation is really good! They are moisturising but i've noticed that colour "clogs" at certain parts of the lips, not really providing an even application, so i would reccomend scrubbing the lips beforehand with a nice lipscrub to remove any dry patches.

The colours are gorgeous in my oppinion, but i do prefer my E.L.F. lipsticks to be honest. Would i reccomend these? To a degree. Would i repurchase? Maybe. The colours are really really lovely and that would be the only reason me buying more, but as for quality, I would use my E.L.F. ones over these.

Liquid Highlight, Benefit Dupe?

I saw this mentioned in another beauty blog and knew i had to test it out for myself! Its not a dupe but seems very similar to Benefit Hi-Beam! I haven't used this yet on the face, only swatched, but the blended product seems to create a nice shimmer. The product isn't sticky and blends to a smooth finish without any clogging or flakeyness.

On the left is the product straight from the bottle and on the right is it blended. It comes in a bottle like a nail polish, with the brush attached to the lid. For the price this is an absolute steal! I am so shocked with the quality, i didnt expect it to go on as smoothly as it does. Where is this from you may ask. You shall be shocked to find out, Primark! I believe it was £1 or £2 (cannot recall) and is deffinatly worth buying. Personally i probably wont use this much as i prefer powder highlighters, but for those who like liquid ones, try it out!

Upcoming in the next few days is more E.L.F. , urban decay, sleek and Collection 2000 hauls/reviews!

E.L.F. Haul and Review!

I have been pretty inactive over the last week as i've just gone home for easter, leaving my computer back in Southampton! I rarely get a chance to use the family PC here as my mum has a farmville addiction! Anyway! I ordered my first E.L.F. purchaces about 2 days before returning to the North, and what do you know! They were waiting for me when i walked through the door! Delivery is amazing! I am really impressed with the service and products of this company so far and am deffinatly going to order from them in the future!

Sorry for the bad phone picture when i was unpacking! Anyway, I ordered seven products coming to £19.00 with free shipping. I've been using most of these products over the past week so heres my experience of them!

Clarifying Pressed Powder, Ivory (£1.50)
I haven't really tried this product much, i brushed a little bit over my forehead with a kabooki brush but thats about it, it just seems a little dark/yellowy for my skin when swatched. I will deffinatly give it a try though on a "lazy day" just incase theres not a great deal of staying power. Regards to the spongy thing, i will probably never use it as i personally prefer a brush for application. The powder does smell a little like watermelon though which i like, as cheap powders usally have that "cheap makeup" smell. It's a matte powder and seems quite "light" on the skin, not too clogging.
Feather Proof Moisturizing Lip Liner, Natural Blush (£1.50)
This is the first proper lip liner i have ever bought to be honest. I've only recently been experimenting with lip products so thought i would give this ago. When lineing my lips with this i really couldnt see much difference, but when filling my lips in with it i can see the colour. Its not drying and feels great under a lipstick. More of a base than a liner i think. It also comes with a cute sharpener!

Luscious Liquid Lipstick, Strawberry (£1.50)

This liquid lipstick can be used as a gloss or stand alone product. I has enough pigmentaion to give the lips a redish tinge or give some shine to a matte lipstick. The fruity smell is lovely and it really moisturises the lips upon application! It doesnt fade patchy also. What i have noticed though it after a while, when it has started to wear off, my lips feel kind of "bitty" at the corners. But, a quick wipe and reapplication quickly moisturises and solves this. Im not even sure if it is deffinatly this product that caused this as i usally wear things underneith, or i may have just put too much on which caused it to gather in the corners.
Lipstick Fantasy, Medium Nude Brown Creme (£1.50)
I wanted to try a nudeish brown colour lipstick as I'm loving pinky nude colours latley! This have a lovely pigmentation, not too dark and not invisible. Its very moisturising on the lips with a fruity smell. I have heared that people have had problems with the lipstick snaping but I've had no problems with it. The packaging is plastic feeling but ofcourse, this is £1.50! It stays unharmed when thrown in a handback though. I would deffinatly reccomend this for £1.50! As for staying power, I cant say i have noticed it to be honest. It doesnt stay for a great length of time, but over a liner i reckon its about a 3 hour wear before a touchup is needed.

Mineral Infused Face Primer (£6.00)

Hello my new staple product! I cannot even describe how amazing this makes the skin feel! One little squirt is more than enough to cover the whole face and leaves it feeling fantastic! It stops foundation from sinking into the pores adding extra staying power to it! I just cant imagin not using this now! Its similar to the GOSH face primer (that being a little more waxy) but half the price! The texture is also apparently like the smashbox face primer!

Blush and Bronzer Compact (£3.50)

My only "studio range" purchase, but i have to say, I love the packaging! Its similar to NARS but less rubbery so easier to wipe clean. The below swatches are unblended and applied heavily for the camera to pick up. I havent tried the blush yet as im hooked on my Benefit "Throbb" but i've been ussing the bronzer as a countouring powder. It does apply quite dark and needs alot of blending, as i am quite pale skinned. On a darker skinned lady though, this would be perfect! Both the colours are matte which is also perfect for countouring! The staying power is great and the powder has no smell.

Daily Brush Cleaner (£3.50)

As a quick clean solution, this spray is perfect! I use this to wipe eyeshadow brushes clean after use mostly, as i wouldnt really trust it cleaning a foundation brush, I would rather give those a deep clean. Its quick, easy and theres no mess involved!

Overall I LOVE these products! For the price they are amazing quality! I shall deffinatly be placing another order sometime soon!

Fraulein3°8 & Elf Upcoming!

A few days ago i placed my first Fraulein3°8 order! I'm really hoping it will arrive tomorrow as I leave for North England on Wednesday for a month! The main reason i purchased this was for the brushes. My brush collection is kinda sucky and in need of a major volume boost! The palette was just an extra bonus :P

This morning I also placed my first ELF order having heared some wonderful things about this budget brand! Taking advantage of the free UK & Europe shipping on their website (Code: 135KELFEU - Available until 10:30am tomorrow morning), I got some much needed essentials and some random products i liked the look of!

More good news, my first follower woop! I made this blog to rant, rave and review products for my friends, and just as a kind of output for my thoughts, so its amazing to actually have a random follow me. Thank you so much! I hope i can get some more people interested in my little makeup journey from my tiny collection as it is present, to a huge "whatever do i do with all of this" jumble! I have some images to upload from my recent photoshoots also in the coming weeks! If I get a few more followers I will take proper photographs for reviews, not just bad quality blackberry images, with my Nikon D90 (aka my baby <3)

Pink & Black Nails!

I have never really dont much with my nails, one coat of nail polish thats chips in a day, horrid bitten, uneven things. Top coat? What is this!
After reading alot of beauty blogs though I have found a new envy for pretty nails! I went out last week to buy a topcoat i have read some good reviews on, and two cheap polishes. I clipped all my nails down to the same length and had ago with one colour. It didnt last as long as i hoped, maybe 2 days before chipping occured, but to be fair i put the polish on very quick and the tips of my nails are still abit ragged. A problem i have always had with my nails is that they are extreamly weak! They snap so easily and bend really bad. I think its time to invest in a product that can harden them!
But anyway! This morning i decided to try something new. Using MUA pink and black, i tried a little basic pattern. This is only phone camera quality but it shall do for now!

For a first go at doing anything other than one colour, I think it turned out alright! When i go shopping with mum next week, I think ima pick up some more polishes and do a little more experimentation.
