What I got for Christmas 2014: Disney Edition

I love reading ‘Christmas Gift’ posts as I’m so darn nosey, so thought I would jump on the bandwagon and do my own, Disney style! I say Disney style, pretty much everything I received was Disney themed. My friends & family know me well. I was so spoilt this year by everyone and am so grateful for everything. I had such an amazing Christmas, it is truly is one to beat. The celebrations started when I attended the annual ‘Veggie Christmas Dindins’ which Em, one of my bffs, throws every year for our friendship group (who happen to mostly be vegetarians). There we did present swapping in which I received a lovely Beauty and the Beast Traditions figure from Daniel, a Maleficent t-shirt from Em & her husband and some chocolate from Marky. Chocolate and Disney = two of my favourite things.

Now you may be wondering why a 23 year old got dolls for Christmas. Well, I actually collect dolls, particularly Sleeping beauty ones (heck I collect everything Sleeping Beauty). If your a fellow collector, you know how addictive it can get. I try to stick to Limited Edition Dolls and ornaments, but the struggle is real when I see cute pieces like the animator dolls. My boyfriend Craig even gets on board with my collecting and always seems to get me a new piece every year, hence my new Showcase Aurora Figure! I’ve been wanting her for so long and am ecstatic that I can now add her to my Sleeping Beauty shelf. Another standout gift is the adorable Minnie Mouse Dressing Gown from my parents. I've needed a new one for a while and this one just screams my name.

Other gifts that I got which aren't in the photographs include loads of chocolate (I seriously mean loads), a gingerbread house making kit, frozen pj bottoms, 2 more sets of Disney pjs from Craig's mum and tickets to see Fantasia by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, also from Craig's mum!

What did you get this Christmas? Did you get any Disney themed Christmas presents?

P.S. Blah blah disclaimer, not bragging, blah blah.
P.P.S. I am totally bragging about how awesome my family and friends are.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

kiehls midnight recovery concentrate

I’ve been a fan of face oils for quite a while now, they are definitely my thing, although I've never actually invested in a premium one until this year. I purchased the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate back in April when my skin was going through a rough patch, being dry and spotty to the point where I went out a spent way too much on new skincare. Oops! Gosh, am I glad I did though, as ever since then this has been a staple in my evening skincare routine.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a lightweight oil which claims to regenerate, repair, and replenish overnight for smoother, healthier skin. It’s made of 99.8% natural ingredients and is paraben free, which could only be a plus, right? The amount I apply varies but on a typical evening I use 2-3 drops while on days I feel I need a little bit extra (for example, if I've been wearing makeup for over 12 hours, ew!) I use about 5 drops. It doesn't take long to sink into the skin, not leaving any oily residue at all while instantly making my skin look healthier. I can honestly say it does such a great job of moisturising and refreshing. In the morning my skin feels more replenished, hydrated and balanced while over a longer time period, the texture of my skin has most definitely improved. Another plus is that this little bottle lasts so long! My first bottle lasted me 6 months, which makes the £36 price tag a lot more bearable.

Pros: Refreshes and rejuvenates the skin, paraben free, 99.8% natural ingredients, lasts a long time, smells nice, doesn't break me out, sinks into the skin quickly, improves skin texture.
Cons: A bit pricey in one go (although it lasting a long time counteracts that in my opinion).

I have nothing but good things to say about this product and have already repurchased. Have you ever tried the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate? What's your favourite facial oil?
You can purchase this from the Kiehls website or a number of department stores.
