That’s What She Said: Sugarpill Chromalust #2!

Hello there! I’m just letting you know now this is the first scheduled post I've ever done woop! I’m not sure if it will work, but I’m back north for the next three weeks so thought I may as well get something planned as I probably wont blog straight away.

Anyway, as you can guess by the title, another Sugarpill post! You can read my first Chromalust review here, as this is more of a swatch/first impressions kinda thing.

So here are the loose shadows I got from my last order (see the first part of my order here)! Royal Sugar, Tiara, Decora and Absinthe (L-R, T-B). As always, the packaging is cute, sturdy and just down right practical.

_DSC0034edit_DSC0046edit

Tiara and Decora contain 4.5g of product while Royal Sugar and Absinthe contain 4g. Such a generous amount considering the price. Tiara and Royal Sugar are more of a finer consistency than Absinthe and Decora, which can be shown a little better when swatched wet.

_DSC0066edit[L-R: Decora, Absinthe, Royal Sugar & Tiara]

Not that this effects then product at all when on the eye (bad swatches are bad)! The consistency of Royal Sugar when wet is AMAZING! It just glides onto the skin. Love love love!
Each Chromalust is $12, pretty amazing when you think of what your getting for the money.
Sorry about the shortness of the post, but these products have been talked about so much, that there's nothing really new and inventive I can say about them!

What is your favourite Chromalust?

That’s What She Said: Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette!

Yes, more Sugarpill! I really cannot get enough of this brand. I made an order during their birthday sale last month, this beautiful palette and some Chromalust’s making their way into my collection! It’s a similar product to the Sugarpill Sweetheart Palette, which i reviewed Here, so I’m not going to bore you with too many repetitive details.

_DSC0004edit _DSC0017edit

The packaging is basically the same, but obviously contains four different shadows. Flamepoint, Buttercupcake, Love + and Poison Plum each have amazing pigmentation as predicted. All matte, with the slight exception of Poison Plum which has abit of a satin sheen to it.

_DSC0027edit[L-R: Flamepoint, Buttercupcake, Love + and Poision Plum]

Smooth application, great pigmentation, easily blended, what more could you need? You will get 4g of each shadow, for only $34! I cannot recommend Sugarpill enough if your a fan of bright colours. I’ve been banging on about them to the Makeup Artists I collaborate with on a daily basis.
You can buy Sugarpill from there website here, with free shipping for orders over $75.

_DSC0007edit

The only annoyance for me, was getting caught at customs! I had to pay £16 (inc handling fee) extra, which kinda made the 20% off in the sale pointless. I know its not Sugarpill’s fault, but I couldn't help but being pretty annoyed by it. I am a poor student after all!

What are your favourite Sugarpill products? Do you have any favourite colour combinations?

Makeup Demonstration with Illamasqua’s Alex Box

Hey lovelies! As those of you who are following me on Twitter may have seen, me and fellow blogger Katie got to see the amazing Alex Box, Internationally renowned makeup artist and Creative Director of Illamasqua, at work this morning! She was doing a demonstration for the makeup students at our university, so of course we snuck in, neither of us actually being makeup students! Shhh!

_DSC0033edit _DSC0031edit

The way she worked was so inspirational. Sure, I don't actually want to be a makeup artist, but using emotion to guide her work is something I'd love to incorporate into my photography. The work she did with photographer Rankin, is one of my all time favourite collaborations, so actually seeing Alex Box work in the flesh was rather exciting to say the least.

“This is what we are, this is where we’re going".”

The way she described the new Human Fundamentalism collection was about embracing who we are and developing it. This particular point really stands out for me, and has actually really inspired me to embrace who I actually am, instead of trying to fit into an ideal. I’ve be suppressing my style, with makeup and clothing more and more since coming to university. Thinking that people wouldn’t take me seriously as a fashion photographer if I put crazy colours in my hair, or stomped around in platform boots. Well, screw them!
A little bit of self-reflection there! Anyway, have some pictures! Sorry about the quality, the lighting was terrible!

Thank you so much for the chance to see you at work Alex. You’re an inspiration to young women in such a judgmental society.

If any of you guys was a run-by of how she applied the look shown, just tweet me and I'll be happy to pass on my notes!

Disney’s Princess Aurora Inspired Makeup Look

Heya! I was planning on posting a review before this FOTD, but the lighting around here has been terrible in the past few days so have this instead! This is inspired by the NTMS Disney Challenge, a look based Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora. I know the tones are different, but this is kind of representing the “fight” two of the fairies, Flora and Merryweather, have over the colour of Aurora’s birthday dress.

Who is your favourite Disney Princess?

Coincidently after doing this look, i glanced down to see my socks were the same colour. I know that's pretty uninteresting, but it amused me okay!

Just letting you guys know I am pretty busy with university work at the moment. I will try to keep upto date with posting, but I may be abit of a slacker. I shall be going home for three weeks on Thursday too, so won’t have all my makeup with me to do many interesting looks. I shall try my best with what I've got though!

FOTD: Summer is Coming!

Heya. A quick FOTD for you today. My parents have been visiting this weekend, so I’ve mostly opted for a neutral look, with the exception of a bright lip I rocked earlier. This weekend has been amazing down south! So warm, I can feel summer! I just wore this look for a walk to Southampton Commons with the puppy and the parents =]

Is so excited for summer! What did you guys do this weekend?
I’ve also bought a new lens for my camera (50mm prime lens) which I used for these shots. I primarily got it for filming, as I’m shooting a few fashion films but it seems to be working good for makeup shots!

That’s What She Said: Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Aqua Eyes Set!

Hey m’dears! As those of you who are not in the USA will probably know, Make Up For Ever isn't easily available in the UK unfortunately, which kinda sucks as I've been dying to get my hands on some. Luckily they were at IMATS so i jumped at the chance to pick up some of their aqua liners.

_DSC0032edit _DSC0029edit

I got this little set of five eyeliners for £17.50, which may seem steep to some as they’re only little, but to me it was a bargain, as I only wanted to try them! Shades included are 0L, 6L, 2L, 10L and 20L, wouldn't it be so much easier if they had proper names? They came in a cute little clutch-like tin adorned in snake skin print.

_DSC0023edit

The eyeliners themselves, I have to say are freaking amazing. They don't budge! The main things i want in an eyeliner is pigmentation and staying power, these have both. Who cares if I have to scrub it away of a night, it lasts all day god damnit! I don't think the black is as pigmented as say, Urban Decay Zero, but it’s pretty damn close.

_DSC0034edit

Each of the liners in this set are 0.7g, and will last a decent amount of time I guess. I don’t use mine every day as I have many other eyeliners, so don't quote me on that!
The only problem with these are availability and price, if your on a budget!
I’m actually going to make sure I head to the Sephora when I go to Paris in summer though, so I can pick up some more MUFE bits!

Overall this is a good starter set to get into the brand. Not overly amazing, but great if you want abit of colour variety other than the bog standard black and brown.

FOTD: Not so Mellow ‘lellow

Incoming cliché look! Primarily inspired by the NTMS challenge. Yes it’s been overdone, and I’ve done a crappier version before but whatever! I just wanted to use my Inglot shadows and had an hour to kill before my shoot. The ‘lellow in the title is how I used to pronounce yellow when I was a kid. Dayum I was cute!

The tongue picture was totally just showing off my piercing. Downsized bar soon please! Also, see the pretty blue/purple in my hair? Yey ^_^ I’m awaiting Special Effects “Fishbowl” to come in stock on BeeUnique and I may possibly dye all of my hair that shade! Directions fades so quick on me, so I'm hoping SE will last longer. I had bright crazy hair for years, so I cant wait to get it back!
Have any of you guys ever dyed your hair a bright colour? What brand did you use and colour did you go?

As a little side note. I’m going to Disneyland Paris for my 21st!! Me and the boyfriend are going to spend the weekend in Paris, and spend a day in Disneyland. Mega excited! Bring on August <3
