That’s What She Said: The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist Review!

More pretty scents! I’m a complete sucker for anything fruity smelling, so a few weeks ago when I spotted this body mist I knew I had to have it. My favourite shower gel from the Body Shop is the strawberry one, I can sit there all day with it under my nose. So you can imagine my delight when this baby appeared in front of me, a ray of sunshine illuminating the display. Well, it wasn’t that theatrical but you get what I mean!

For £7 you get 100ml of pure heaven. I’m not even joking. I must spray this every time I walk past my little makeup storage area. My clothes, hair, skin, nothing can escape. The scent doesn't linger very long, but I am more than happy to throw the bottle in my bag and spritz myself when I’m out. This isn’t a substitute for a perfume mind you. If I am wearing perfume, I will spray this on my hair and body before I get ready then just add perfume after I'm done.

The bottle is glass and feels really luxurious for the price tag, I thought it would be at least a tenner. I 100% recommend you check the Body Mists out, they have a range of scents just waiting to be sniffed. I have literally sprayed myself 4 times while writing this post haha!

Have you tried the body shops mists? What’s your favourite fruity scent? I think mine have to be strawberry and orange hands down!

FOTD: Purple Absinthe with Sugarpill!

Another day, another bright eye look! This is the makeup I did for my friends wedding on Saturday. I was wearing quite a plain outfit so decided to do a bright eye! It’s not too over the top (for me) but still fun. You can see the nails I did here.

These images were taken a few hours after I applied the makeup and I had yet to do touch-ups (namely redoing the waterline).

This is by far one of my favourite looks in quite a while, and it was so quick to do! Every time I have worn makeup in the past few weeks it has been bright, I’ve literally not worn neutrals at all since Paris. I feel like I have more of a reason to wear them now that my hair colour is rather natural. I love it!

What do you think? What’s been your favourite bright look this summer?

NOTD: Blue Moon Glitter Tips!

I wanted to try something new and fun on Saturday, as it was one of my best friends weddings! Her colour scheme was white and baby blue, so I thought I would paint my nails to match the occasion. It’s my first time trying a glitter tip, and I think it turned out rather well. It’s also lasted so much longer than when I'm wearing a bog standard polish!

Products used
OPI Base Coat
Barry M Blue Moon
Paris Berlin Light Blue Glitter
China Glaze Fairy Dust
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

I’m definitely feeling the glitter tip and can tell this is going to be a favourite for me over the next few weeks! It’s pretty easy to do as well. I’m considering doing a few tutorials on nail and makeup looks in the future, but am yet unsure if they are going to be in video or picture form. What do you think?

What are your favourite colour combos for a glitter tip?

That’s What She Said: Illamasqua Medium Pencils in Errant, Paint & Feisty!

_DSC0055edit

Back in January I picked up three Illamasqua Medium Pencils at IMATS so thought I would let you know what I think about them! I have such a weakness for bright colours where makeup is concerned, eyeliners being one of my biggest cravings. These pencils are suitable for use literally anywhere. Eyes, lips, body, you name it. Though I personally would only need to use them on the eyes and occasionally the lips.

_DSC0039edit

If you have been following me for a time you will probably know Illamasqua are one of my all time favourite makeup brands. Some of their products are absolutely amazing, some others being pretty average. The medium pencils are unfortunately one of the latter for me. Sure the pigmentation is amazing and the formula is soft and creamy but they don’t seem to set on the eye area. If you like to blend out or smudge your eyeliner these will be perfect, but if your like me and want the colour to set and not budge all day, they are no so perfect.

_DSC0064edit[L-R: Feisty, Paint, Errant]

To be honest I would say I like the medium pencils, it’s just I couldn't justify them for the full price when the Urban Decay ones are just as pigmented but have much better staying power. They retail at £13 each but I managed to snag a bargain at IMATS, picking them up for only £2 each. For that price, i wish I would have bought more.

_DSC0067edit

Above is a light swipe after leaving them to set for 5 minuets.

Pros
Strong Pigmentation
Good for smudging when doing a smoky eye
Can be used anywhere
Wide range of colours
Isn’t drying when used on the lips

Cons
Don’t last all day
Expensive
Don’t set properly

Overall I personally wouldn’t splash out for a Medium Pencil for the full price but if your looking for a liner that smudges well, you should check these out as the pros far outweigh the cons.

Have you ever tried Illamasqua Medium Pencils before? What is your favourite bright eyeliner?

FOTD: Hysteric Decora with Sugarpill!

So a few days ago I went to meet a friend of mine for a cup of tea! With an array of brightly coloured eye shadows spewed all over my desk, I asked him to choose what I should do for the days makeup. Pink and purple was the response I got, so here’s what I came up with. I used a new way of lighting my face/eyes in these images so the colours aren’t washed out, let me know what you think in the comments!

These photos were taken when I got back home later that day so the inner corners aren’t pristine (I itched my eye oops)! I’m really impressed with this Sephora Flashy Liner! It hardly budged all day! I wish I would have picked up more colours now.

Have you ever tried the Sephora Flashy Liners? What do you think of this look?

That’s What She Said: Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Eau de Parfum Review!

_DSC0017edit

Perfume has never really been my forté. All through my teen years I spritzed myself with various scents from my mothers rather large collection yet never had any of my own. That all changed when I started university, no longer having a variety of pretty smells at my fingertips. Fast forward to now and I’ve got myself a small collection of bottles from Chanel to DKNY to celebrity perfume. One of the newest additions is Taylor Swift’s signature perfume, Wonderstruck. Now I don’t know what drove me towards this particular one. I’m not a Taylor Swift fan, so I'm just putting it down to the pretty sparkles on the bottle and my little girl crush on her.

_DSC0007edit

I have the 30ml version which retails for £20. Unfortunately it doesn't have the cute charms that the bigger size has and is a pretty small bottle. The upside to that is its brilliant to pop in your handbag, which on a long day out will probably be needed as the scent only lingers for a few hours. The scent itself is fruity yet floral, most definitely aimed at a “younger” audience, reminding me a lot of the Fantasy range by Britney Spears. I personally love it, and have been wearing it every day since I received it from my sister.

Alluring
The flawless beauty of freesia, apple blossom and raspberry spark a swirl of vibrancy and feminine allure.

Authentic
In the heart, a sweet surprise of blissful vanilla is embellished by airy, sun drenched honeysuckle and white hibiscus.

Engaging
Notes of golden amber and sandalwood are woven with a kiss of lush peach.

For a good girly perfume, this hits the nail on the head.
Have you tried Wonderstruck? What is your favourite scent?

I’ve been playing with lighting alot when it comes to my makeup looks, as I've found all natural light is really washing out colours. From now on expect to see different tones and better images!
What’s your favourite colour glitter to play with?
